Joint Annual Meeting
23 January 2010
Hilton Lisle/Naperville - Lisle, IL
Our 2010 Annual Meeting opened
with a Color Guard from John F.
Kennedy Sea Cadet Division from
Forest Park, IL.  The Sea Cadets in
the Color Guard are PO2 Oliver
Kolb, PO2 Nicole Reardon, PO2
Michael Rodriguez and PO3 Edward
Egan.
The invocation was given by Captain Dave Truitt in which he remembered one of
our fallen commrades, Captain Alden T. "Bud" Wulff, who passed away in January
2010.
Our guest speaker for the evening was Rear Admiral Philip H. Cullom.  Currently RADM Cullom is the
Director, Fleet Readiness on the Staff of The Chief of Naval Operations in Washington, D. C.  RADM
Cullom is a native of Flossmoor, IL so it was only appropriate that he was introduced by Captain Jack E.
Day.  When RADM Cullom was a senior in high school, Captain Day was one of the interviewers for his
application to the United States Naval Academy.  Captain Day has followed the career of RADM Cullom and
they have become and remain good friends for many years.
RADM Cullom delivered a very informative presentation about the challenges the Navy faces in these times.  Among other responsibilities, RADM
Cullom is the "Energy Czar" for the Navy and works with others to make the fleet "Green."  He talked about new kinds of ships and aircraft engines as
well as biofuels all of which are part of the future "Greener Navy."  .
After the presentation CWO4 Ted Rock presented a gift
to RADM Cullom in appreciation for his excellent
presentation.
Our Treasurer, Mr. Edward J. Ram,
gave the Treasurer's Report.  We
had a very good year from a
Financial Standpoint.   The
response to our Annual Financial
Campaign was outstanding and it
allowed us to provide very good
support for our Sea Cadet Units,
and our training ship, Manatra.
